CAP Project at Carrgate

What a fantastic day and opportunity for the students of Outwood Academy Hemsworth.

Students have had a very exciting day. Starting with the Police fitness test, 3 students out of 7 passed. Then onto NPAS where they were able to speak to PC L Rothwell about the Police Helicopter and what is is used for etc. Each student had the opportunity to board the helicopter.

They got to meet the on duty Police Horses who work 6 days a week, pet them and discuss what the handlers and horses do when in duty and visit the public order arena where a live firearms training session was taking place.

Finally they attended the MOE department and were shown a full demonstration on how the Police enter properties, using the MOE kit. Miss Turner (Year 7 Learning Manager) seemed to enjoy this more than the students!

Great day, fantastic behaviour by all involved.
