Toby Rutter is the Principal of Outwood Academy Hemsworth.
I am a qualified PE teacher and started my career at Allerton Grange School in Leeds. I was appointed Second in Department before moving to Outwood Grange Technology College (now Outwood Grange Academy). Here I progressed to Head of PE and a member of the Leadership Team. During this time we secured an Outstanding judgement from Ofsted. I became a Specialist Lead for Education, using data to improve interventions and was deployed to support other schools. In 2012 as Vice Principal I was deployed to Outwood Academy Brumby, a school in special measures in Scunthorpe. In 2014 I completed my National Professional Qualification for Headteachers and in 2015/16 I was appointed as Principal at Outwood Academy Brumby. In the summer of 2018 Outwood Academy Brumby was the highest attaining school in North Lincolnshire. In September 2018 I was appointed Principal at Outwood Academy Hemsworth. This is an exciting post and I relish the opportunity to bring about improvements for this community. I will continue to upheld the vision; Students First - raising standards and transforming lives.
